The 10 Acre Woods

The 10 Acre Woods is a farm animal rescue that opens its doors to the public on weekends from spring to fall, to provide socialization for the animals as well as animal therapy.
Narcisse Snake Dens
Look for the Narcisse Snake Dens sign on Hwy #17, 6 km north of Narcisse
Tens of thousands of red-sided garter snakes call these dens home. Late April and early May are the best times to catch a glimpse, but check the link for their activity levels before you go.
Delta Marsh Wildlife Management Area
MB-240, 30 km north of Portage la Prairie
See thousands of colourful warblers migrating in the spring, as well as swans, geese and ducks.
Alfred Hole Goose Sanctuary
Half-kilometre east of Rennie on Hwy 44
Visit in early June to see little goslings and their parents, or late August to Thanksgiving to see hundreds of geese getting ready to migrate. Free admission.

Discovery Nature Sanctuary
Off Eastview Drive, Winkler
This 32-acre sanctuary is home to several native plants and animals such as waterfowl, songbirds, frogs and more.
